What inspired you to serve the City of Sunland Park?
I’ve always been driven by a deep desire to create meaningful change and make a difference in my community. Growing up in Sunland Park, I saw firsthand the challenges our city faced, and I knew I wanted to be part of the solution.
Those experiences shaped my perspective and fueled my commitment to serve others. They pushed me to take action, get involved, and look for ways to create opportunities where they didn’t always exist.
Today, that same purpose continues to guide everything I do, as I work to build stronger, more supportive spaces for families and future generations.
Leadership and Community Impact
During my time as a Council member, I focused on listening closely to my community and making decisions that reflected what people truly needed. I worked to use our resources responsibly, support public safety, and help create a city where families feel supported and proud to call home.
That experience strengthened my commitment to service and gave me a deeper understanding of how meaningful change happens at the local level.
Committees and Projects
As President of the Chamber of Commerce, I worked alongside local businesses to help them grow, navigate challenges, and build a stronger local economy.
As Chair of the Statewide Early Childhood and Care Department Advisory Council, I advocated for children and families across New Mexico, helping expand access to quality childcare and creating more opportunities for every child to succeed.
“Live by example. Follow through on your word. Be present. Always remember that you have the power to create change and better the world. You only get one life—leave your mark and make a difference.”
